The Dynamic Social History Museum in a 14th Century Farmhouse
The museum is housed in one of the oldest buildings in Edenbridge. Church House (or Doggetts as it was once known) is adjacent to the Crown Inn in the centre of the town, and the house itself is a dominant exhibit. Originally a farmhouse it is a Grade 11* listed building constructed soon after 1380, some thirty years after the Black Death ravaged England.
Although not a large museum it houses a wealth of information, photographs and exhibits pertaining to the Eden Valley from the Stone Age to modern times, with a charming display of social costume through the ages.
Free parking is available nearby.
